This is a painting of Carmel Bay, on the Monterey Peninsula, on a quiet day. I love to paint in this area - the sea shows so many different moods and the colors are constantly changing. The day I was there, the sea was like glass. Beautiful, colorful glass.

Very soon, the poppy fields of Lancaster, California will be in full bloom. The Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve is a wonder to behold, as long as it doesn't get too cold or breezy (then, the poppies close up, protectively.)
